Package Details
Longyearbyen Svalbard is a small town on a Norwegian archipelago about halfway between mainland Norway and the North Pole. It contains the World’s most northerly permanent settlement and the World’s most northerly hotel. The town of Longyearbyen Svalbard has 3 months without the sun above the horizon in winter and 4 months in summer where it doesn’t dip below the horizon. It’s a land of extremes where polar bears can be seen in the wild. Join us on this unique adventure into the wild North.

Day 1
Fly from London Heathrow via Oslo to Longyearbyen Svalbard. Following your arrival transfer to the Radisson Blu Hotel – the most northerly hotel in the world
Welcome dinner at Restaurant Nansen
Night in comfortable double room – as there is minimal light pollution in the area be sure to check the sky for the Northern Lights on a regular basis
Day 2
Optional tour: Following a filling breakfast it’s time for a Snowmobile Safari. The tour travels with electric snowmobiles which are better for the environment and completely silent. The trip includes rental of all equipment and guides with weapons and training for safety. This is a necessary safety measure should a Polar Bear be encountered. The tour then heads to the East Coast to maximize the chances of seeing wild Polar Bears.
Night in comfortable double room in the Radisson – don’t forget to check for the Northern Lights.
Day 3
Breakfast
Day at leisure – add another trip or relax
Evening trip to Camp Barentz – driving to the wilderness maximizes the chances of seeing the Northern Lights. There is a recreation of the cabin the discoverer of Svalbard, Willem Barentz, used in 1596 at the camp. It’s possible to see Svalbard reindeer and other wildlife. The trip includes a traditional meal and hot drinks.

Day 4
Breakfast and airport transfer for return flights.
Add on a separate 10 hour Snowmobile Tour where it may be possible to see polar bear from £350 pp (mid-late February only)
